Facilities at the new clinic include eight exam rooms, a large cast room, digital imaging equipment, and administrative and support facilities. The clinic will treat all children, regardless of the family’s ability to pay. At the May 13 grand opening ceremony Dr. Anthony Scaduto, Orthopaedic Hospital’s Chief of Pediatric Orthopaedics, told the Mirror the clinic will not only be providing comprehensive orthopedic treatments for kids, but will also be providing school nurse education, health fairs, and “more educational courses for coaches and trainers at schools regarding injuries and treatment options.†He also mentioned that the clinic will be staffed by two full-time orthopedists, three part-time physicians, and that each of the physicians is a sub specialist in a field of pediatric orthopedics. The Chief Administrative Officer of the Santa Monica – UCLA Medical Center and Orthopaedic Hospital, Posie Carpenter, stated in her remarks that the opening of the clinic was the “realization of the vision and hope that†was being put into the alliance between Santa Monica –UCLA Hospital and Los Angeles Orthopaedic Hospital. She also reminded the audience that at the end of 2010 the new Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center and Orthopaedic Hospital building would open on Wishire Boulevard and 15th Street and include both inpatient and out patient services. The Renee And Meyer Children’s Clinic of Orthopaedic Hospital will also be housed in the new building.Renee and Meyer Luskin donated $250,000 to the clinic. Meyer Luskin is the Chairman of the Board of Advisors for the Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center and Orthopaedic Hospital and the CEO/President of Scope Industries.
