Starline tours debuted the new route of their London style, double decker bus, Los Angeles tour featuring seventeen different stops. At the stops people can get off of the bus, explore the destination at their own pace, and then catch another bus at the designated stop or another one. The bus stops are in the great places to shop, sight-see, and enjoy some of the best resturants in Los Angeles. This new route is “the latest loop in its network of Hop-on, Hop-off routes. Starline Tours will connect all three of its Hop-on, Hop-off routes – the Santa Monica Route, Downtown and Hollywood, giving visitors a chance to not only see all of LA, but also experience it, as they create their own ‘hopping on and off’ time frame, per their choosing. The new Santa Monica route will give visitors the opportunity to see the city without a car, and to partake in other Los Angeles highlights while basing their stay in Santa Monica,” said Starline Tours. The tour also goes to Brentwood, Westwood, Hollywood, and Rodeo Drive.
The tour buses run every half hour beginning at 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and tickets are valid for 48 hours, so you can enjoy the experience without feeling rushed and you can go at your own pace and join the tour from any stop on the route.
The new tour route goes through Santa Monica, shows tourists the beach and briefly explains surfing and its history. It then stops at the pier and gives historical information about the beach, significant beach houses, and the pier itself. The automated tour guide is careful to mention where movies were filmed, for example some scenes in Forrest Gump were filmed on the pier, Baywatch was filmed on the Santa Monica Beach and many more. The automated tour giude is also careful to identify many celebrities’ homes including Shirley Temple’s house in Brentwood and O.J. Simpson. It also stops at many of the important tourist sites such as 3rd Street Promenade, The Beverly Hilton, and The Chinese Theater, to name a few. The bus goes by many significant hotels in the area including the Georgian Hotel, and mentions celebrities who have stayed in the hotel.
Whether you are a tourist, or have lived in LA for your whole life, Starline tours are a great way to learn about the city, celebrities in the area, and historical information about the city. The red doubledecker buses are a lot of fun and are a great way to experience the city because of the elevated view, the important sights are pointed out by a friendly, lively staff, and you can sit back and relax and enjoy the breeze, sunshine and fabulous city of Los Angeles.
