The 33rd Annual Festival of the Chariots took place at Venice Beach on Sunday, August 2. The Festival, presented by the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) included a free feast for thousands, free entertainment, and exhibits on Indian spirituality and culture. Krishna devotees pulled three colorfully decorated chariots from the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium to Windward Circle on the Ocean Front Walk where the event was staged. Devotional music and dance inspired the huge crowd on a beautiful day. Cipes & the People performed, a young Krishna-conciousness band that has been signed by Sony Music.
