Imported Beer?Wednesday, August 26, 5:02 p.m. Officers got wind of some people drinking in public in an alleyway adjacent to the 1400 block of Lincoln Boulevard and went there in order to put a stop to this prohibited activity. When they arrived, these officers observed a quartet of human beings sitting on the ground accompanied by some open bottles of beer. The officers began chatting with these people and noticed that there was a backpack present, sitting alongside a case of beer. The officers deduced that this backpack was the property of one of these beer drinkers and so casually asked if they could take a peek inside said backpack. The owner of the backpack responded in the affirmative (alcohol apparently reduces inhibition), and so the cops picked it up and looked inside. The officers found, inside this backpack, a fraudulent social security card. They then busted this alley dwelling, beer drinking, backpack owning and suspected illegal immigrant, male Latino, aged 48, for possession of a forged citizenship document and transported him away, to the Santa Monica jail.* * * *icrack? Wednesday, August 26, 3:00 p.m. A man was riding a bicycle on the sidewalk in Santa Monica (it’s not called the side “cycle”), and was spotted doing this by some Santa Monica police officers, who made an attempt to stop him. This guy was having none of this, and so made an attempt to cycle away. As he, was attempting to flee, he hit the officers patrol vehicle, and then continued his flight on foot. The cops caught this cycling enthusiast a short distance away, whereupon he explained to the officers that he had attempted to escape because he was on probation (if in doubt, do the wrong thing?). Also, the officers discovered, as they were detaining this gentleman, that he was in possession of a crack pipe, and an ipod. The ipod was evidently stolen, so he was arrested and booked for possession of stolen property, possession of narcotic paraphernalia, and probation violation. * * * *“Goodbye”…Smack!Wednesday, August 26, 11:30 p.m. Officers received a call informing them that there was a domestic violence occurrence, occurring at the 1500 block of 6th Street, and so went there to sort it out. When they arrived, these officers spoke with the female victim (woman). This victim explained what had happened. She claimed that she had been in a love (gone sour?) relationship with the suspect in this case, but that love relationship had mutated into a “friendship.” They had spent the day together, and toward the end of this day the victim had requested that the suspect go home, at which point this “ex-lover now friend” punched her in the face and pushed her to the ground (huh?). This ex-lover-now-friend-face-punching person then fled the scene. The officers found him though, and arrested this male black, aged 28, and booked him for battery.* * * *I Shall Not Be Moved!Thursday, August 27, 12:35 p.m. Officers went to the 1400 block of 2nd Street where a man was refusing to leave a location where building maintenance men were intending to do some maintenance work. The man in question was subsequently making it difficult for these maintenance maintainers to maintain the building, by maintaining his presence there, and refusal to move on. The officers arrested this “perma-man” for trespass and obstructing a business, thus maintaining the rule of law. One wonders whether he will maintain his innocence?
