Alert: Police Blotter: Santa Monica:

Feelings Of Rejection.

Tuesday, September 15, 9:20 p.m. Officers received a report of vandalism at Renee’s, located in the 500 Block of Wilshire Boulevard. Renee’s is what is commonly known as a “neighborhood bar,” or, if you will, an establishment that features a counter at which drinks, especially alcoholic drinks, and sometimes food, are served, and are habitually frequented by inhabitants of the immediate vicinity. When the officers arrived at Renee’s, they were informed that a patron had been behaving in a manner that was causing consternation to the other people at the bar, and thus was removed from the drinking establishment. This fellow then proceeded to walk down the adjacent alley, and expressed his displeasure at being rejected by Renee by picking up a block of concrete, and throwing it through the back window of a parked BMW. This action shattered the glass, and damaged the frame of said fancy car. The officers located this white male, aged 32, of no fixed abode, a short distance away, and instead of rejecting him, like the staff of the bar, welcomed him, but this time to the Santa Monica jail, charging him with felony vandalism at the same time.

 Ten Dollars.

Wednesday, September 16, 10:50 p.m. Officers were patrolling the 300 block of Wilshire Boulevard when they observed an assault taking place. What they saw was a white male kicking at a wire basket that was being held by an 85-year-old woman. The officers intervened and spoke with this guy. He told the cops that he was kicking the wire basket because he did not like this old lady (huh?).  The policemen then spoke to this 85 year old lady, and she told them that she was soliciting for money outside a restaurant located at 4th Street and Wilshire Boulevard, when this guy came up and took a ten dollar bill from her solicitation device (a cup, in this instance), that she was holding up at the time. She tried to grab the money back, but this man held on to it and began yelling at her. The cops decided that there was enough evidence to arrest this white male from Pacific Palisades and charge him with robbery, so they did.

 55-33-36!

Friday, September 18. At some time during this day officers learned that there could be some kind of prostitution activity occurring at a premise located in the 1800 block of 14th Street, and that this place was also posing as a spa. The officers arrived at the location, and realized that it was indeed being used for an illicit business. Three people were subsequently arrested for municipal code violations. Two of them, namely a pair of Asian women, aged 33, and 36, were taken in for being massage technicians in a room with a naked customer, whilst the third, a 55 year old Asian woman, was arrested for operating a business without the required license.

Two Guys, Some Pot, and a Bike (not a movie title)!

Saturday, September 19, 5:41 p.m. Officers were driving around the area of Santa Monica Boulevard and Lincoln when they saw a couple of guys that they had some prior knowledge of. One of these guys had recently been arrested for possession of a stolen bicycle, while the other was on probation for a narcotics offense. The cops asked these guys if they could chat with them, and the guys replied in the affirmative. During this chat, it came to light that one of these men was in possession of a substance that looked like marijuana (probably not catnip), and also a bicycle, that he had no way of proving was his own property. The other guy coincidently had warrants out for his arrest. The cops took both of these guys to jail, whereupon the former, a white 49-year-old male, was charged with possession of pot, as well as stolen property (the bicycle).
