Venice High Swimmer Wins Award:

Andi Murez, a swimmer from Venice High, has been chosen High School Athlete of the Year by the Southern California Jewish Sports Hall Of Fame and will inducted January 30.

At that time a dinner and ceremony will be held at the Skirball Cultural Center, 2701 North Sepulveda Blvd.

At the organization’s 14th awards ceremony inductees will include Jordan Farmar of the Lakers in basketball and Ryan Braun of the Milwaukee Brewers in baseball.

In addition, the organization’s Allan Malamud memorial scholarship for journalism will go to Isaac Rosenthal of Venice High.
