Samohi’s Space Man:

Astronaut Lieutenant Colonel Randy Bresnik, a 1985 Santa Monica High School alumni, visited Samohi to address the student body on Friday, March 5, receiving a hero’s welcome in a packed auditorium. Resnick attended Grant Elementary School, John Adams Middle School and then Samohi. Presenting a slide show which showed his and his fellow astronauts backgrounds as well as their space flight, he told students about teachers who influenced him, a Russian class he took at Santa Monica College as a high school senior which helped him on his space mission, setting high goals & pursuing dreams, education, healthy lifestyle, environmental awareness, and valuing family and loved ones.

Resnick was on the 31st shuttle flight to the International Space Station. He said in the future he hopes to spend 6mths at the Space Station.
