Roadrunners Baseball to Move Up: Team Will Go From Division 6 to Division 5

The Roadrunners are on the move.

The Crossroads baseball team will transition from Division 6 to Division 5 next year, and the move means they will have to step up their game, coach Pat Armstrong said in an interview at the end of the Roadrunners’ playoff run.

“This is what it’s about. Elevating the program, getting moved up is the ultimate compliment, really.”

The Roadrunners went undefeated in the Delphic League this past season and advanced to the CIF-SS semifinals where they fell to eventual champions Oxford Academy.

Stepping up to Division 5 will bring with it a new set of challenges for the boys at Crossroads. The Roadrunners lost to every D5 team they played this year.

“It’s just a better standard of baseball,” Armstrong said.

Armstrong is confident in the ability of his players to step up when the challenge comes, especially the seven incoming seniors. But he admitted they have their work cut out for them.

“We do have to acknowledge that we are going to have to put in a lot of work,” he said.
