This past January was the 50th anniversary of a Venice haven for art and poetry. Many poets important to the Venice Beat movement were connected with the Temple, including founder Baza (pictured), Philomene Long, Tony Scibella, and Frank Rios. Don’t worry, it’s not really brutal, except possibly to eardrums. For two days the ocean front will rock with bands whose names alone tell a story: The Pain, Sangre, Brutal Force, Insecticide, Unsanctified, Death Asylum, Slip Into Coma, Kushinator, and more. An all ages-show, presented by Westside Metal Alliance.
