CityTV Broadcasting Dominguez Hills Classes:

CityTV is turning living rooms into classrooms. Beginning Saturday, Jan. 8, CityTV of Santa Monica and DHTV, the television program service of CSU Dominguez Hills are teaming up to provide viewers with live, interactive broadcasts of classes and lectures on Forté cable channel 99. Each series of broadcasts provides viewers to an opportunity to earn University credit.

All Forté viewers can be part of the dialogue on each program by calling in during each live broadcast via toll-free 800 numbers. The classes and their scheduled airtimes are as follows:

COM 100: Mass Media in Society with Catherine Clinch, Saturdays, 12:00 Noon to 1:40 PM beginning 1/8/11. Viewers will learn theories behind methods and the role of media in a global society. Origins of current and future trends in the communication industries will be discussed with in-studio guests.

IDS336: Jazz in the Modern Era with Chet Hanley, Tuesdays 9:00-10:30PM beginning 1/18/11.

Learn all about the history, styles, and impact of jazz music with Chet and his in-studio guests and featuring live performances of the American art form.

TED 407: Language Learning with Danny Brassell, Saturdays 9:00-11:00AM beginning 1/22/11.

The program provides the chance for teachers and parents to learn strategies to achieve educational success for learners of all ages.

IDS 350: Gardens of California with Jerry Turney, Sundays 2:00-3:30 PM beginning 1/23/11.

Get the latest information about the abundant variety of flora within our state, how to improve your garden landscape and featured garden events.

THE 100: TV, Film, and Theatre with Bill DeLuca , Tuesdays 3:00-4:30PM beginning 2/1/11.

Discover the skills, techniques and history with practitioners of the various crafts who create work in these performing arts .

POL 101: American Institutions with Brenda Riddick, Wednesdays 3:00-4:30PM beginning 2/2/11.

Learn about the origins of government organizations and the role they play in shaping in American politics.

MUS 100: Introducing Music with Scott Morris, Thursdays 3:00-4:30PM beginning 2/3/11.

Get the information and skills you need to appreciate a wide variety of music throughout history and from a variety of cultures.

CityTV is the government community cable channel for the City of Santa Monica.
