On Friday, Feb. 11, at 8:37 p.m. officers went to the 800 block of 15th Street in response to a report of a family disturbance. When they arrived they spoke with the suspect (the boyfriend), and this is the chain of events that he described to the officers.
He said that he had been arguing with his girlfriend about her drinking. His girlfriend had then left the location only to return a short time later to discover that she had been locked out. The girlfriend had then gone to a back window and attempted to climb through it to gain entry. The boyfriend had attempted to stop her from doing so, but was unsuccessful. The boyfriend had then called 911, and then the girlfriend had walked to the front door of the residence, whereupon the boyfriend had tried to push her out of said door. In the process of pushing her out of this door the boyfriend had caused some scratches to occur on the girlfriend’s nose and throat.
The officers took a look at the girlfriend and observed the scratches on the aforementioned parts of her anatomy, and so arrested the boyfriend, and charged him with inflicting corporal punishment on a cohabitant.
The bail for this 36-year-old resident of Santa Monica was set at $50,000.
