A new homeless services web portal online has been launched by the City of Santa Monica, which can be viewed at www.smgov.net/homelessness.
Whether you’re looking for information on how to help or how to get help, the site provides a central location to learn more about local efforts to address homelessness in our community, including Santa Monica’s action plan to address homelessness.
Santa Monica’s coordinated approach focuses on the most vulnerable and chronically homeless individuals.
The City, nonprofit agencies, housing providers, government partners, and representatives from the business and faith communities work together to connect people who have been homeless in Santa Monica for many years with services and permanent housing.
The approach also includes working with neighboring communities to form collaborations and to promote a fair distribution of resources that address the regional nature of homelessness and to promote development of housing and services throughout Los Angeles County.
Visit www.smgov.net/homelessness today for detailed information on City initiatives, including the annual public review of the Action Plan, and the Annual Citywide Homeless Count coming in January 2012.
