Gates, Kingsley & Gates Moeller Murphy Funeral Directors, a Dignity Memorial provider of funeral, cremation and cemetery services, will host its 6th Annual Fall Concert, “Music and Memories” on Saturday, Nov. 5.
The Fall Concert, which is open to the public at no charge, begins at 3 p.m. in the location’s historic Little Chapel of the Dawn, 1925 Arizona Ave., in Santa Monica, (corner of Arizona and 20th).
Tickets are not required, however an R.S.V.P. is requested.
“Our Fall Concert is one of the most anticipated events of the year and features some of the area’s most talented performers,” said Jeffrey Baker, general manager, Gates, Kingsley & Gates Moeller Murphy Funeral Directors. “Our 2011 program promises to delight and inspire audiences with a selection of music that will awaken every music lover’s heart.”
The evening will feature songs and music performed by Helena Buscema and Gary Denk, sought after performers throughout Southern California.
Buscema was named the “Best Worship Singer” in The Best of L.A.!, in Los Angeles Magazine which wrote, “You’ve never heard an Our Father like this one, particularly when choir singer Helena Buscema (imagine Ella [Fitzgerald], only thirty-something and white) is belting it out at the mike.”
A spiritual message will be shared by Reverend Lee Lasko, minister at Unity West Santa Monica.
Refreshments will be served following the concert and guests will have the opportunity to write a name or message on their choice of colorful leaves, which will then be used to decorate a tree that will grace the reception area throughout the holiday season.
