Santa Monica Police Department detectives are continuing to investigate who may be responsible for 12 swastika painted in the city between Saturday and Sunday night.
Vandals also spray-painted swastikas in Brentwood, but it is not known if it is the same person or persons.

“We took 12 reports for the hate-crime type vandalism, which we believe occurred late Saturday evening into Sunday,” Lewis said.
“It’s an active investigation right now and there’s no new information at this point.
“Most of it was concentrated Wilshire Boulevard north to the city limits, and from about Fourth Street to the east limits where we border with Brentwood.”
