John Adams Middle School (JAMS) will hold its Heart Day next Tuesday, Feb. 14.
On Heart Day the JAMS community will take a break from the regular curriculum to focus on the concepts of love of self, love of other, and the building of a strong, compassionate, community.
All 1,200 JAMS students, parents, and staff will be wearing special red t-shirts that say “I’mpossible” on the front and “JAMS – Dream Big, Work Hard” on the back.
Parents and members from the extended community are invited to join JAMS from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. on the fields on the south side of campus to enjoy this school-wide gathering.
The morning program will include the unveiling of our JAMS Commitment Board that states:
“I hereby commit to help build and maintain a strong, positive, and compassionate community at John Adams Middle School.”
Representatives from the extended community will publicly commit by signing their names on the board. The outdoor gathering will end with an exciting Zumba lesson, to show students that loving yourself through physical fitness can indeed be fun.
After a nutrition break, there will be an assembly featuring the dynamic Dr. Terrance Roberts, a motivational speaker who was one of the Little Rock Nine, as well as other team building and compassion building activities.
