Up to 15,000 people a day are expected to attend the LAPD West Bureau’s Summer Carnival to be held this Friday, July 13 through Sunday, July 15.
It will be held at the corner of Windward and Pacific Avenues in Venice with some street closures in the area to begin Wednesday, July 11.
This is the first time the annual carnival, which is in its third year, will be held in the Venice area.
The carnival runs from noon to 11 p.m. each day.
It is focused on attracting Venice residents and visitors who are already in Venice Beach – young children and families in particular.
Mechanical rides and games will be set up, and LAPD officers will be on hand to interact and meet with attendees.
Street closures begin Wednesday, July 11 at noon, run through midnight on Sunday, July 15, and are as follows:
— Windward Avenue from Pacific Ave to Main Street will be fully closed beginning at Noon on Wednesday (7/11) until approximately 6 a.m. on Monday, July 16.
— Windward Circle will be fully closed beginning at noon on Wednesday, July 11 until about 6 a.m. on Monday, July 16.
— Grand Avenue will be fully closed beginning at moon on Wednesday, July 11 until about 6 a.m. on Monday, July 16.
Pacific Avenue, Venice Way and Venice Boulevard will all remain open in both directions. Residents are encouraged to walk or ride their bikes when possible.
