The City's Resource Recovery and Recycling Division invites residents to its Textile Recycling Event and T-Shirt Craft Workshop on Aug. 18.

Do you have unwanted clothing, towels, and bedding that you are looking to offload?

If the answer is ‘yes,’ the City of Santa Monica’s Resource Recovery & Recycling Division would like you to drop them off at its textiles collection event on Saturday, August 18 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the City Yards.

All of the usable goods dropped off with go to many charities in the Santa Monica area.

A drop-in workshop will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. where anyone can learn how to make a t-shirt bag perfect for shopping at the Farmer’s Market with no sewing required.

Unsure what to bring? Clean and dry textiles like clothing, shoes, towels, sheets, scarves, hats, bags, and belts are a good start.

The City Yards is located at 2500 Michigan Avenue in Santa Monica.
