Residents who lives near Lincoln Place (1077 Elkgrove Avenue, Venice) are being warned that cat traps will be set Saturday, Oct. 20.
The City of Los Angeles Department of Animal Services will set up traps at on Elkgrove Avenue (1033, 1436, 1437) and Penmar Avenue (1629-1721) in a bid to reduce the number of stray cats in the area.
Non-targeted cats, which are trapped, are to be released from the trap site. All other cats will be impounded at the West Los Angeles Animal Care Center at 11361 W. Pico Boulevard, Los Angeles, 90064.
“If you own a cat that is allowed outdoors, please ensure it is wearing an identification tag with collar,” the notice reads. “If your cat is missing during the indicated trapping period, please visit the LA Animal Care Center in your area.”
A cat impounded without traceable identification will be held four days to allow the owner to redeem it, the notice said. On the fifth day, the cat will be available to the public for adoption.
The traps will remain through Nov. 17, 2012.
