Santa Monica Sisters Launch Turkish Jewelry Store Online:

Santa Monica sisters Meyla Ruwin and Nevra Shapiro, founders of Beksan Imports, have recently launched their online store featuring original Turkish designed jewelry and one-of-a-kind treasures.

Beksan Imports works directly with local Turkish artisans to create unique designs, along with hand-selected jewelry and accessories of the finest quality for each of their collections. Each piece beautifully captures the essence of Turkish art and artistry.

The Turkish collections at Beksan Imports can be found online at http://store.beksanimports.com, through quality boutiques in the LA and the Bay Areas and through in-home Trunk Shows locally.

Shapiro said shoppers can discover exquisite jewelry, luxurious cotton, silk, and pashmina hand-crafted scarves, and other fun and unique accessories.

“Working with my sister has been an amazing experience,” Shapiro said. “I would never have thought we would start a business together but now that we have done it. I couldn’t imagine having done it with anyone else.”

The Beksan sisters created their Turkish Treasure Collection by searching the myriad of shops and bazaars in Istanbul looking for items that are unique to Turkey.

This Beksan collection offers stylish kilim shoulder bags, handmade fabric handbags, colorful coin purses, and glass key chains.

The original designs in their jewelry collection blend old world charm with modern glamour in fashionable ways.

“Each scarf in the Beksan scarf collection is hand-selected and care and attention is given to the quality of workmanship, artistic details and designs,” Ruwin said. “Shoppers can choose from a variety of cotton, silk, pashmina or hand woven/fine silk scarves.”
