Recharge your job search with a seminar on job search strategies followed by a panel discussion with experts tonight, Nov. 13 from 6-8:15 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room at the Santa Monica Public Library, 601 Santa Monica Boulevard.
From 6-7 p.m. Mitch Rufca of Rufca Recruiting Services will share tips and insights on a variety of topics including networking and job fairs, online resources, resumes and interviews. From 7:15 to 8:15 p.m. attendees are invited to participate in a panel discussion with experts Daisy Swan and Kate Pletcher.
Mitch Rufca, Principal of Rufca Recruiting Services, has over 10 years of recruiting experience. He has worked in various industries ranging from aerospace to engineering, with the last four years focused on legal and technical support to law firms and Fortune 500 companies. Originally from Illinois, Rufca earned a Sports Marketing degree from Indiana University and a Masters of Business Administration at Pepperdine University. He enjoys being involved and learning how technology is constantly creating demand for new skills and employees. His goal is to recruit with passion and energy, and treat both candidates and clients with the up-most integrity and honesty.
Daisy Swan, MA, CPCC of Daisy Swan & Associates is a career strategist, coach and counselor. She has helped hundreds of clients find more rewarding careers and life paths throughout the past 20 years. Daisy has also counseled hundreds of students at several major universities who need help preparing for career transitions and job searches. Her new book, “Making Work Work: Secrets from A Career Coach’s Office,” a valuable resource for anyone making a career transition, is now available for Kindle, iBook, Nook and google ebooks.
Kate Pletcher, MBA, started Mom Corps LA, a search firm that specializes in flex-time staffing, after more than nine years of sales and business development experience across a number of industries including advertising, consumer products, publishing, and entertainment.
Pletcher holds an MBA is from the Anderson School of Management at UCLA. Before Mom Corps, she served as Director of Global Brand Licensing for Skechers USA and worked with a business development consultancy, managing brand development and extension for MGM Studios and Shape Magazine.
