Pacifica Christian will tonight, Nov. 17 present Peter Barnes’ brilliant, Olivier Award winning tragi-comedy “Red Noses,” first produced by the Royal Shakespeare Company in 1985.
A final performance is scheduled for this Sunday as well at 5:30 p.m.
Set during the Black Plague of mid-fourteenth century France, “Red Noses” bristles with intellectual energy and heart.
Faced with the hopeless devastation, an inspired monk hits upon his sacred crusade: bring cheap laughs to the masses.
Filled with empathy for a battered humanity, the play follows a motley crew of wanderers as they battle disease, corruption and groan-worthy puns in order to save men’s souls through the power of laughter.
Some material may be unsuitable to non-teenage audiences.
Curtain up will be at 7 pm. There will be a maximum capacity of 100 seats and a waiting list in the event a show is sold out.
The show runs just over and hour and a half, with a 10 minute intermission.
Tickets $10 General Admission, $5 Students. To reserve tickets, email “tickets@pacificachristian.org.”
Pacifica Christian High School is located at 1730 Wilshire Boulevard, Santa Monica.
