Santa Monica City Council Election 2012: Absentee Ballot Results In:

The results of the Santa Monica City Council election absentee ballots have been posted by the LA County Registrar’s Office.

A total of 18,988 absentee ballots were counted, which represents about a third of all local voters as there are 60,909 registered voters in Santa Monica.

The four candidates with the most votes will be elected to the seven-member council.

Incumbents Terry O’Day and Gleam Davis are up for re-election. Richard Bloom and Bobby Shriver are the other two incumbents, but Bloom is vying for the 50th Assembly District seat while Shriver simply chose not to seek City Council re-election.

As of 11:15 p.m., here are the absentee ballot results (numbers do not include any ballots cast today at Santa Monica’s 54 precincts):

1) Terry O’Day: 2731 votes (14.45 percent)

2) Ted Winterer: 2607 votes (13.8 percent)

3) Gleam Olivia Davis: 2539 votes (13.44 percent)

4) Tony Vazquez: 1779 votes (9.41 percent)

5) Shari Davis: 1759 votes (9.31 percent)

6) Richard McKinnon: 1174 votes (6.21 percent)

7) Frank Gruber: 1071 votes (5.67 percent)

8) John Cyrus Smith: 964 votes (5.1 percent)

9) Jonathan Mann: 831 votes (4.4 percent)

10) Bob Seldon: 745 votes (3.94 percent)

11) Armen Melikonians: 704 votes (3.73 percent)

12) Terence Later: 570 votes (3.02 percent)

13) Jerry Rubin: 494 votes (2.61 percent)

14) Steve Duron: 473 votes (2.5 percent)

15) Robert Gomez: 457 votes (2.42 percent)
