Second Earthquake Strikes Santa Monica Bay Within 24 Hours:

A second earthquake within 24 hours has struck Santa Monica Bay – the latest a 2.7 magnitude reading at 12:44 p.m. Tuesday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

It was located 15 miles west of Hermosa Beach and nine miles southwest of Marina del Rey at a depth of 7.6 miles.

A magnitude 3.3 earthquake struck Santa Monica Bay on Monday night, about 10 miles south-southwest of Santa Monica at 6:39 p.m. at a depth of 6.95 miles.
