Veteran Travel Adventurer To Enlighten At A Free Santa Monica Library Event:

Santa Monica Public Library presents “1,000 Places to See Before You Die” with Patricia Schultz this Thursday, Jan. 10, at 7 p.m. in the Main Library’s MLK, Jr. Auditorium, 601 Santa Monica Boulevard.

For more than 25 years, Patricia Schultz has been a traveling the globe and writing for publications including “The Wall Street Journal,” “Everyday with Rachael Ray,” “Travel Weekly” and guidebooks such as Frommer’s and Berlitz.

In 2003 she reinvented the travel book as both a wish list and practical guide with her international bestseller, “1,000 Places to See Before You Die.”

With three million copies in print, Schultz’s “1,000 Places” book was the basis for a Travel Channel series and has been inspiring both armchair travelers and experienced globetrotters for many years.

The new full-color second edition, released in November 2011, is completely revised to include 500 new photographs, 200 new destinations, 28 new countries, and an emphasis on comprehensive travel experiences.

Schultz, a frequent travel speaker, will present a visual program of her favorite global travel destinations, followed by a Q&A and book signing.

Whether you are a veteran travel adventurer or just curious about the world around us, you will be enlightened and entertained by this program.

This program is free and all ages are welcome. Space is limited and on a first-arrival basis. For more information, call 310.458.8600 or visit smpl.org.
