A 29-year-old Hacienda Heights woman was sentenced Friday to 19 years prison after striking and killing a Santa Monica boy on the 60 Freeway on June 3 last year, according to the San Gabriel Valley Tribune.
The Tribune reports Tina Marie Silva pleaded guilty at El Monte Superior Court to gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and leaving the scene of the collision on the right shoulder of the freeway.
Maximillion Petrakos, 13, was killed while his mother, Mary Hively, then 41, and his 10-year-old brother were injured in the hit-and-run.
Silva, who was on her way home from a graduation party, pleaded to the two felony charges and admitted great bodily injury allegations for two victims who survived.
