The Charleston in Santa Monica is celebrating its first birthday with new food and cocktail menus.
Mixologist Matt Martinez has refined the libations while Mike Garber consulted with Chef Jet Tila and head cook Carlos Arizaga to create the new dishes.
“We wanted to make changes on par with current trends that use fresh, seasonal ingredients,” said general manager Tyler De Re. “Our previous menu had solid options, but we wanted to take it a step further and offer new, invigorating flavors. As we celebrate our one year, we wanted to make some fresh changes.”
As for the cocktail menu, Del Re said some exciting changes had been made.
“We wanted updated twists on classic drinks and edgy, new recipes that would set us apart,” he said.
Crowd food favorites like the short rib tacos and signature beverages like minted mule are still available.
The Charleston opened last March as a live music venue and lounge.
Jazz is played every Tuesday night and Sunday for brunch.
Wednesday through Saturday is reserved for various DJs in the newly designed booth.
The Charleston is located at 2460 Wilshire Blvd, on the corner of 25th and Wilshire Boulevard, Santa Monica.
