Former “Top Chef” contestant Nyesha Arrington of Wilshire Restaurant will gather a handful of Los Angeles’ “Top Chef,” “Top Chef Masters,” and “Top Chef Just Desserts” contestants for a backyard pig roast at her restaurant in Santa Monica from 1-4 pm this Sunday, April 28.
The event will benefit Share our Strength Taste of the Nation Los Angeles to help end childhood hunger in the United States.
A whole hog will be butchered and utilized in dishes that will include inventive spins on classic items such as pulled pork, pork belly, spare ribs, and pig ears.
The food will be served alongside Trashcan Punches from Mixologist Devon Espinosa of Pour Vous; craft beer from Bockor Brewery, Big Sky Brewing, and Firestone Walker Brewery; and premium coffee drinks.
The public is invited to join the chefs for a potluck-style lunch with BBQ sides and desserts from Ilan Hall, CJ Jacobsen, Danielle Keene, Alex Reznik, Michal Fields, and Brooke Williamson.
Guests will also have the opportunity to purchase tickets for Taste of the Nation Los Angeles on June 9, 2013 in Culver City at a discounted price.
Wilshire Restaurant is located at 2454 Wilshire Boulevard, Santa Monica.
Tickets are $55 and may be purchased at http://ce.strength.org/events/top-chef-pig-roast
