Santa Monica City Yards Debuts New Drop-Box For Used Clothing, Shoes, Textiles:

A look at Santa Monica's new Community Textile Recycling Container

The City of Santa Monica’s Resource Recovery and Recycling Division has partnered with USAgain to host a drop-box at the Santa Monica City Yards where members of the community can conveniently drop off used clothing, shoes, and household textiles for reuse and recycling.

The bin is located at 2500 Michigan Ave, near the Resource Recovery & Recycling offices and is accessible during normal business hours from 8 am to 5 pm.

Future program expansion will provide additional bins Citywide, including at City Hall.

Each year, it is estimated that Americans throw away 68 pounds of textiles like old rags, bedding, stinky socks, and unflattering clothing that becomes the ‘fill’ in our landfills.
