Free Health And Fitness Festival Returns To Third Street Promenade Saturday:

The Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce presents the 28th Annual Wellbeing Health and Fitness Festival on the beautiful Third Street Promenade this Saturday, July 27 from 12 pm to 5 pm.

The community is encouraged to celebrate a healthy, active, and happy lifestyle at this free annual summer festival.

There is a lot to do at this year’s sponsor booths.

UCLA Health, lead sponsor, will have their “Ask the Doctors” booths. You can have your footwear analyzed by a podiatrist, have your body mass index (BMI) counted, participate in blood pressure screenings, and obtain answers to health questions from UCLA pediatricians and geriatricians.

Have your photo taken with one of the furry friends from the People-Animal Connection.

Saint John’s Health Center is proud to highlight its world-renowned John Wayne Cancer Institute. Visit the booth to learn more about the Brain Tumor Center, the Margie Petersen Breast Center and more. Ask their doctors your burning medical questions and walk away with fun-in-the-sun giveaways.

Visit the Kaiser Permanente interactive booth featuring friendly therapy dogs and health education games with fun “Thrive” giveaways.

Visitors can also take charge of improving their total health with health screenings.

Pick up healthy eating guides, and learn about managing your medications, asthma management and the latest on Health Care Reform (“Obamacare”).

The Marina Del Rey Hospital Intuitive da Vinci surgical robot will show off its amazing abilities such as peeling a grape and winning at the game, Operation.

Again this year find out about local services from non-profits and businesses, participate in free fitness classes, receive giveaways, and get samples from at least 70 vendors showcased on the popular Promenade.

Near Wilshire Boulevard, the Naam Yoga Zone will have all-day classes for all ages.

Entertainment on two stages will be happening all day including Santa Monica’s Got Trainers Challenge, Zumba, fencing, yoga, and martial arts classes.
