Santa Monica Mayor Pam O’Connor and Public Works director Martin Pastucha joined City officials Wednesday for the topping out ceremony for the redevelopment of Parking Structure 6, located on 2nd Street between Broadway and Santa Monica Boulevard.
The new structure is expected to open to the public by mid-December.
It will consist of three subterranean and eight above ground parking levels with space for 730 vehicles.
O’Connor said there will be approximately 7,000 square feet of retail space fronting 1432 2nd Street, bicycle parking, electric vehicle charging stations, and a break room for Downtown Ambassadors.
The parking structure formally had 342 spaces.
