A Santa Monica man aged 38 was arrested Saturday, Sept. 21 and charged with domestic battery after throwing a bicycle shoe at his wife.
Officers of the Santa Monica Police Department received a radio call at 12:12 am on this day informing them of a family disturbance in the 1600 block of Ocean Front Walk.
Upon arrival the officers spoke with the victim who was the wife of the suspect.
The victim told the officers that she had been relaxing by lying on the couch inside the residence when her husband approached her and slapped her on the back of her head for no reason whatsoever.
The wife stated that she had confronted her husband about this act of aggression and that he had denied hitting her.
The wife, angered by this act, and the subsequent denial, picked up a pillow and threw it at her husband.
The husband responded by throwing a bicycle shoe at his wife.
The officers, based upon the evidence of the wife, arrested the husband and charged him with domestic battery.
Bail information was not available at the time of going to press.
