Bail was set at $20,000 for a 40-year-old Santa Monica valet worker on Friday, Sept. 20 after the man dislocated a colleague’s shoulder during a fight while on the job.
Officers of the Santa Monica Police Department were called out to a business in the 1500 block of Ocean Avenue at 9:30 pm on this day in order to investigate reports of a fight.
Upon arrival the officers discovered that two valet workers employed at the business had become embroiled in an argument, which had evolved into a fight.
During the altercation the suspect (valet number one) had head-butted the victim (valet number two) causing a laceration to his lip.
Valet number two had at that point attempted to run away, but valet number one had followed him and extended his leg causing valet number two to trip up and fall to the ground, resulting in a dislocated shoulder.
Valet number two was transported to a local hospital for treatment to his injuries.
The officers had enough evidence to arrest valet number one and this man (place of residence not known at time of going to press) was charged with assault.
Bail was set at $20,000.
