Santa Monica Pursecase Founders Hope “Sharks” Take The Bait:

Fans of ABC’s hit show “Shark Tank” will be able to see two Santa Monica entrepreneurs pitch their hip new smart phone accessory on tonight’s new episode at 9 pm.

Kelley Coughlan and Jenn Deese are the creators of pursecase, a stylish clutch for easy access to smart phones and essentials like cards and cash.

The pair, and co-founders of Los Angeles boutique lifestyle public relations firm Melrose PR, will be pitching their company to the tough, self-made, multi-millionaire and billionaire tycoon sharks.

As fashionistas and PR professionals, the pair said they rely equally on functionality and style. So when it came to protecting their iPhones – something so central to their careers and lifestyles – compromise was the last thing they were looking to do.

What are two 21st century girls to do when they want the protection of a phone case, the practicality of a purse, and a chicness that exceeds both? They invent it, of course. And with that, pursecase was born.

Coughlan said they were honored to be a part of “Shark Tank.”

“Pitching to the sharks is the opportunity of a lifetime,” Coughlan said. “At the time of taping we came in with only pre-orders totaling around $30,000 so we hope that our experience in the Shark Tank will help catapult this brand to becoming a household name.”

With patent pending on a unique design that includes the ability to hold any girl’s essentials – cards, cash, phone, and a built in compact mirror – pursecase is not only chic, but also sensible.

Deese said gone are the days of digging for a lost phone inside a black-hole handbag and missing that “oh-so-important call.”

“We hope the sharks see as much potential in this product as we do,” Deese said. “We’ve put our blood, sweat, and tears into making this product the best it can possibly be and we can’t wait to have America stylin’ and dialin’ with us.”

Of course, Coughlan and Deese said they cannot divulge what happens during the show or whether or not a deal is struck as the final edit is a surprise to everyone.

The Sharks in the pursecase episode of “Shark Tank” include Mark Cuban, Barbara Corcoran, Kevin O’Leary, Lori Greiner, and Robert Herjavec.

The product comes in the choice of teal, pink, purple, black, white, or limited edition neon yellow (glow-in-the-dark) for the iPhone 4/4S, iPhone 5/5S/5C, and the Samsung Galaxy S4.

All these options can be purchased now at www.pursecase.com.
