Dun & Bradstreet Credibility Corp. Launch First EdAhead Donations For SMMEF:

Dun & Bradstreet Credibility Corp. on Wednesday presented a $180,000 donation to the Santa Monica-Malibu Education Foundation (SMMEF) to fund scholarships and a summer 2014 high school internship program.

The money was raised through the company’s EdAhead® Initiative, which harnesses the collective power of employers and employees to invest in the future of public education.

The EdAhead Initiative matches employee contributions to their 529 college education plans up to a set amount. The company then makes a donation in that total amount to education programs at school districts in communities where the company has offices.

In October, the company announced its cash donation of $150,000 to the Foundation and challenged the community to match the pledge through the Foundation’s annual fund drive. The company has set aside an additional $30,000 in scholarships for students who successfully complete the summer internship program.

“We are thrilled that the Santa Monica-Malibu Education Foundation was able to raise the funds to match our donation of $150,000 weeks before the close of their campaign. We look forward to our ongoing partnership with the Foundation and the launch of our summer 2014 high school internship program,” said Jeff Stibel, Chairman and CEO of Dun & Bradstreet Credibility Corp.

Linda Greenberg Gross, Executive Director of the Santa Monica-Malibu Education Foundation, added, “Dun and Bradstreet Credibility Corp.’s generous gift to the Education Foundation in support of the SMMUSD Vision for Student Success is truly remarkable and impactful. Our entire community thanks this fine company for its leadership and commitment to public education and our students.”

The company also announced additional pledged donations from the following Dun & Bradstreet Credibility offices as part of its 2012 initiative:

— $30,000 donation to Bethlehem Area School District from the Bethlehem, PA office.

— $10,000 donation to Guilford County Schools from the Greensboro, NC office.

— $15,000 donation to Millburn Township Public Schools from the Short Hills, NJ office.

— $10,000 donation to Tucson Unified School District from the Tucson, AZ office.

“Just as each office is unique, so is each program the recipient school districts have chosen to fund using our EdAhead donations,” said Stibel. “From creating a summer high school internship program and scholarship fund, to helping students pursue a post-secondary education in STEM related fields, we are honored to play a part in helping shape a successful business future for America through the power of education.”
