A 21-year-old transient was arrested at 6:40 pm on Friday, Dec. 6 after being caught trespassing in the laundry room of an apartment complex.
Officers of the Santa Monica police Department on patrol received a radio call on this day informing them that there was a case of a person on private property in progress that needed immediate investigation.
The officer went to the location, namely an apartment building in Santa Monica (unfortunately the street address was not known at the time of going to press) and spoke with the reporting party.
The reporting party told the officers that a man was in the laundry room of the building and was refusing to leave.
The man had also been playing around with the hot water heater of the building and had situated himself in a seated position between the heater and a washing machine.
The reporting party was desirous of an arrest so the officers obliged and arrested this man under the auspices of a private person’s arrest.
This suspect was charged with trespassing and his bail was set at $1,000.
