The popular Fireside at the Miles program returns today for its fifth season at Santa Monica’s historic Miles Memorial Playhouse.
Opening tonight with Orchestra Santa Monica’s Woodwind Quintet, Fireside at the Miles offers an eclectic, intimate performance every Friday and Saturday night through Saturday, March 1.
Every winter for the past four years, the Miles Playhouse reorients its seating around the period fireplace, brings in candles, coffee tables, an organic coffee and tea bar, and produces an intimate series of performances before the roaring fire.
Nowhere else in the Los Angeles area can you enjoy a setting quite like this.
Featuring dance, a capella singing, a wide variety of music, spoken word and poetry, the series offers something for everyone.
This year’s performers include spoken word artist IN Q, singer-songwriters Amy Raasch and David Poe, jazz with Scott Detweiler, multiple a capella groups, taiko drumming with On Ensemble, operatic favorites with Pacific Opera Project, a Valentine’s Day dance concert with Hart Pulse Dance Company, the LA Flute Orchestra and more.
Tickets to Fireside at the Miles are $10 for adults and $5 for students, seniors (55 and over) and kids (16 and under). Doors open at 7:30 pm and concerts start promptly at 8 pm and are finished by 10 pm.

Fireside at the Miles is produced by the Santa Monica Cultural Affairs Division and the Miles Playhouse staff.
Its intent is to provide affordable, high quality entertainment for city residents in a setting that showcases the beautiful historic Miles Memorial Playhouse, completed in 1929.
