The Aero Theatre in Santa Monica will present a screening of “Totem Stories” at 7:30 pm tonight — a documentary about Cirque du Soleil.
An introduction will be given by Totem company manager Jeff Lund and Cirque du Soleil cast member Pippo Crotti.
All ticket buyers will be eligible to win passes to Cirque du Soleil’s “Totem” that opens at the Santa Monica Pier on Friday, Jan. 17 and runs through March 16.
“Totem Stories” is a 48 minute 2010 film from Canada directed by Francis Legaul.
The film takes a look at the touring programs in “Totem,” an eye-popping pageant tracing the evolution of life on Earth from amphibians’ initial steps out of a primordial sea to mankind’s ascent to the skies.
From its premiere in Montreal, the show has taken its artists all over the globe, and this documentary offers a fascinating look at some of the dancers, jugglers, and acrobats behind the elaborate masks and costumes of Cirque du Soleil’s “Totem.”
General tickets to tonight’s screening are $11; member tickets are $7. The Aero is located at 1328 Montana Avenue, Santa Monica.
