The City of Santa Monica is still registering individuals and groups to be a part of the 200-plus community volunteer effort that will hit the streets Wednesday, Jan. 29 to visually count every person sleeping in public spaces.
This annual count not only informs the City’s homeless strategy, but also a way to be a part of the solution.
Security will be provided and everyone will receive training.
The count will take place on the evening of Wednesday, Jan. 29 from 10:30 pm to 2:30 am.
The night begins at a new staging location, St. Monica Catholic Church Grand Pavilion, where volunteers will meet team members, and receive instructions for assigned areas.
This is an eye-opening experience and a chance for community members to start the New Year by making an impact.
St. Monica Catholic Church Grand Pavilion is located at 725 California Avenue, Santa Monica. Free underground parking is available. Enter St. Monica from California Avenue, turn right after the Pavilion and another right into the garage.
Check in at 10:30 pm. Orientation to follow.
