Man Commits Suicide, Jumps Off Top Level Of Santa Monica Parking Structure:

Santa Monica police say a 56-year-old man committed suicide on Tuesday night by jumping off the top level of Parking Structure 2 at approximately 11 pm.

SMPD Sgt. Jay Moroso said a witness came upon a man lying in the alley to the rear of the parking structure.

Moroso said Santa Monica police and fire personnel responded and determined that the person was dead.

“There was evidence present indicating that the incident was a suicide and that he jumped from the 9th floor of the parking structure,” Moroso said. “A member of the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office responded and determined that the cause of death was suicide.”

Parking Structure 2 is located at 1235 Second Street, between Arizona and Wilshire.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Santa Monica Police Department at 310.458.8491.
