Five talented seniors from the Santa Monica High School Orchestras will present a special showcase performance featuring works by Mozart, Goossens, Tchaikovsky, Dvorak, Brahms, Gaubert and others tonight at 7 pm.
Organized by the students, the event is a fundraiser to benefit the Symphony Orchestra’s upcoming European tour that will take these 89 deserving and talented students to the cities of Vienna, Prague, and Baden-Baden.
The five senior soloists include Finn Bordal (violin), Jake Gold (French horn), Jeffrey Ho (cello), Sarah Ohanian (flute), and Ryan Roberts (oboe).
“The featured students in the Samohi Senior Showcase are exceptional musicians who are pursuing music as a career,” said Joni Swenson, director of the Samohi Orchestras. “Their inspiring performances are not to be missed.”
Tickets are $10 at the door for adults and students. It will be held at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, 1343 Ocean Park Boulevard, Santa Monica.
