A 36-year-old woman was arrested on Friday, Jan. 31 after causing a scene at a local motel then breaking a video camera inside a police car after she was arrested for public drunkenness.
Officers of the Santa Monica Police Department were called out to the Pavilion’s Motel, located at 2338 Ocean Park Boulevard, at 3:50 am on this day in order to investigate reports of a woman yelling inside one of the rooms and the voice of a man asking her to calm down.
When the officers arrived they spoke with the occupants and discovered that no crime had been committed.
What they did notice, however, was that the woman in the room was naked and very drunk.
The officers were about to leave when the woman went into the bathroom, closed the door, and jumped out of the bathroom window.
The officers ran to the alley at the back of the motel and found the woman, who was by that time half dressed.
The officers approached the woman and she made efforts to stumble away, however her motor function skills were so compromised by her state of intoxication that her efforts were ineffective and the officers arrested her for being drunk in public.
While in the police car, she kicked out and broke a video camera in the back seat area of the car.
This naked woman, who refused to supply an address, was also charged with vandalism and violation of probation.
Bail was granted in the sum of $20,000.
