ROGA (Run + Yoga) Returns To The Santa Monica Pier On Saturdays For Six Weeks:

Enjoy yoga at 9 am at the west end of the Santa Monica Pier on Saturdays over the next six weeks.

ROGA, a play on words that combines running and yoga, returns to the Santa Monica Pier on Saturday mornings starting today through the end of March.

Launched last year, ROGA is a free running plus yoga class which starts each Saturday at 8 am with run at the top of the pier ramp and is followed by a 9 am yoga class at the far west end of the pier.

A favorite with locals looking for a cost effective way to shake off their Friday night, those who hit the snooze button often skip the run and make it for 9 am yoga. Each week of the six week series features a different acclaimed yoga instructor in a judgment-free environment for all levels.

With the sound of the ocean as a backdrop, and before the crowds hit the pier, the west end of the pier comes alive with downward dogs, breathing exercises, and child’s pose.

This year’s line-up of instructors includes acclaimed yoga film-maker Suzanne Bryant, Cory Martin from Hustle & Flow, Sara Falugo from YogaNest, Paula Tapia from Yoga Doctors Mandiram and more each with their own individual approach to the practice.

ROGA is produced by Michelle & Brennan Lindner, the Active Lifestyle Programming Curators for the Santa Monica Pier.
