A 28-year-old Santa Monica woman was arrested on Saturday, Feb. 1 after punching her boyfriend in the face, causing him to bleed around his mouth.
Officers of the Santa Monica Police Department received a call at 5:30 am on this day informing them that a fight had just happened between a boyfriend and his girlfriend so they rushed to the location, namely the 1900 block of Euclid Street, where they found the couple.
The officers spoke with the girlfriend who told them that it was simply a case of her becoming upset with the boyfriend over a topic of some kind (at the time of going to press the nature of the topic in dispute was not available so it could have been anything), and as a result she had pushed him.
The officers then looked at the boyfriend and saw that his lip was swollen and that he had dried blood around his mouth.
This was enough for the officers to arrest this woman, and she was charged with battery. Bail was set at $20,000.
