St. Monica Catholic Elementary First Grade Students “On Fire”:

St. Monica Catholic Elementary first grade students visited their local fire station on Friday at 1444 7th Street

First grade students at Saint Monica Catholic Elementary School visited Santa Monica Fire Station #1 on Friday, Jan. 31 for the conclusion of the nationwide Catholic Schools Week.

Inspired by teacher Ms. Elizabeth Nuzzolese, the children walked five blocks through their community to say “thank you” to their fellow 7th Street neighbors.

Students presented firefighters with a homemade sign, cards, and donuts in tremendous gratitude for their outstanding courage and sacrifice.

The class received a personal tour, a demonstration of responding to a call and gearing up in uniform, fire safety tips, and a personal Q&A.

The students said they felt “fired up” after meeting their everyday heroes.
