Bail was set at $50,000 for 46-year-old El Cajon man on Sunday, March 30 after being caught assaulting his wife on their first anniversary while visiting the beach.
Officers of the Santa Monica Police Department went to Lot One North at 1550 Pacific Coast Highway at 10:50 pm on this day in order to investigate a report of a domestic battery in progress.
Upon arrival the officers discovered the (married) pair in question and stopped them from fighting each other.
At that moment several witnesses came forward and told the officers that they had seen the husband hit the wife thrice.
These blows had impacted on the back of the woman’s head, and the witnesses added that the husband had followed the strikes up with a taking down to the ground of his wife.
The officers spoke with the husband who told them that he had simply been yelling at his wife.
The officers spoke with the wife who said that they had been celebrating their very first wedding anniversary.
The officers noted the injuries that were visible on the wife and after taking into account the witnesses statements arrested this man and charged him with inflicting corporal injury upon a spouse.
