Valley Village Woman Arrested For Kicking, Pulling Hair Of Santa Monica Police Officer:

A 31-year-old Valley Village woman was arrested on Saturday, March 29 after kicking and pulling the hair of a Santa Monica police officer who was trying to question her.

Officers of the Santa Monica Police Department were investigating a hit-and-run accident at the intersection of Fifth Street and Wilshire Boulevard at 11 pm on this day when they observed a pair of females who were walking in an easterly direction on the north sidewalk of Wilshire Boulevard.

The officers’ eyes were drawn to these women because they were stumbling and appeared to be intoxicated.

The officers were concerned for the safety of these women so they stopped them.

One of the officers called for a taxi to come to location and pick the women up in order to take them home.

As the officers were waiting for the taxicab to arrive, the officers heard a radio broadcast from officers who were on patrol on the Third Street Promenade about two women who had absconded from The Monsoon restaurant without paying their bill.

The description of the women in question matched those of the intoxicated pair who were with the officers at that time waiting for the taxicab.

The officers turned to these two women and began to question them about their activities earlier that evening.

During the course of the questioning one of these women became belligerent with the officers and clenched her fists at them.

The officers went into restraining mode and the woman responded by kicking the officers many times as well as pulling the hair of one of the officers.

Eventually the officers managed to control the woman and she was arrested and charged with assault on a police officer, public intoxication, and resisting arrest.

Bail for this woman was set at $20,000.
