The demolition of a Century Boulevard bridge near Los Angeles International Airport starts this Friday, July 25 at 8 pm and goes through Monday, July 28 at 6 am.
During the closure dubbed the “Century Crunch,” a Metro contractor will begin demolishing a defunct railroad bridge at Century and Aviation boulevards, clearing the site for a Crenshaw/LAX light rail line station.
Big Blue Bus is warning its users that Route 3 and Rapid 3 will be on detour during this time.
Towards Green Line Aviation Station
Regular route to 96th St. at Airport Blvd., then buses will detour and turn left on Airport Blvd., right on Arbor Vitae St., right on La Cienega Blvd., right on 104th St., left on Aviation Blvd., and resume regular route.
The following bus s tops will be missed:
— 96th St. at Airport Blvd.; instead use stop at LAX Transit Center Bay 11.
— Airport Blvd. at 98th St.; instead use stop at LAX Transit Center Bay 11.
— Century Blvd. at Airport Blvd., International Rd., and Aviation Blvd.; instead use stop at LAX Transit Center Bay 11.
— Aviation Blvd. at 104th St.; instead use stop on Aviation Blvd. at 111th St.
— No stops will be missed for Rapid 3 riders.
Towards Downtown Santa Monica/UCLA
Regular route to Aviation Blvd. at 104th St., then buses will detour and turn right on 104th St., left on La Cienega Blvd., left on Arbor Vitae St., left on Airport Blvd., right on 96th St., and resume regular route.
The following bus stops will be missed:
— Century Blvd. at Aviation Blvd., and International Rd.; instead use stop on 96th St. at Airport Blvd.
— Airport Blvd. at Century Blvd.; instead use stop on 96th St. at Airport Blvd.
— No stops will be missed for Rapid 3 riders.
