American Airlines will begin nonstop service between Los Angeles International Airport and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on March 5, the carrier announced Thursday.
American will begin taking reservations on Sunday for flights on the route.
“American is expanding our Los Angeles hub with Atlanta service to give customers more travel options between these two key markets and Atlanta customers convenient access to Southern California,” said Chuck Schubert, the airline’s vice president of Network and Schedule Planning.
The new flights — three times per day in both directions — will be served with Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
