A man was stabbed in the chest on a Metro Green Line platform early this morning and injured his leg jumping on the railroad tracks to flee, a sheriff’s lieutenant said.
The armed robbery occurred at 1:40 a.m. on the platform of the Metro Green Line station at the Glen Anderson (105) Freeway at Long Beach Boulevard, said Lt. Lester Trull of the Sheriff’s Transit Bureau.
“The man exited the Green Line train and was alone on the platform,” said Trull. “He was approached by two men with hoodies. One pulled a knife and the other grabbed his wallet. A slight scuffle ensued and (the victim) was able to jump on the tracks and run away, he said.
A news videographer at the scene said a train was coming but the driver stopped.
Deputies are in the area looking for the suspects, Trull said.
