Many larger Post Offices in the greater Los Angeles area, including Santa Monica’s Post Office at 1653 7th St., will be open with full retail service on Sundays from 10 am to 4 pm through Dec. 21, to make it easier and more convenient to get those holiday packages shipped.
The Postal Service is also expanding delivery operations to include parcel delivery on Sundays during December to make sure Priority Mail packages are delivered on time.
“We are ready to do what it takes to make the season easier and more convenient for our customers, getting holiday packages on their way and delivered on time,” said Santa Monica Postmaster Robert Villa.
Many Post Offices also provide service after hours at self-service kiosks, where customers can weigh mail, ship packages and buy stamps with credit or debit card.
And at usps.com — the Postal Service’s website, customers can shop and ship from their home or office anytime of the day or night.
Millions of customers will skip the trip to the Post Office altogether and take advantage of convenient online shipping this holiday season at usps.com.
Click-N-Ship and other online services allow customers to download postage, print shipping labels and even request free Package Pickup.
These locations are among the many offering full Sunday retail lobby service from 10 am to 4 pm.
To find nearby offices and check hours of service, customers can call 1-800-ASK-USPS or go to usps.com, “Find USPS Locations.”
The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
